Frequently asked questions

How long have you been in business?
I opened Little Peaches in 2005, first as a home daycare. We became a part-time preschool in 2011.

Are you Licensed?
I am licensed by the state of Wyoming, I am required to relicense every year. I have been continually licensed since 2005.

Does the staff participate in any continued education or training on a regular basis?
For licensing, we are required to receive 32 clock hours per biennium as part of being licensed. I ask that my staff go above and beyond this. I believe the more educated we are the more we can educate and provide for our students. Continued education is important to me. My staff understands this and works hard to seek out training opportunities as well as reading educational literature, podcasts, webinars, and courses online, all on their own time outside of the classroom.

Does the school close when the school district closes?
We do somewhat follow the school district on closures, the parent page keeps an updated list of upcoming closures.

Does the school close for snow days?
We will close when the school district closes for snow days.

When can I drop my child off?
The doors to the school open five minutes before class begins, this will give you a chance to come in check the walls of the parent communication center, and chat with a teacher if needed.

Who provides snacks?
We ask that parents consider bringing in a snack at least once a month. If everyone does this our snack shelf will stay full.

How do you handle allergies?
We keep a checklist of all classroom allergies near the snack shelf so we know what to avoid at snack time. You may choose to have your child bring their own snack. we can also store an EpiPen for you if you would like.

How do you communicate with parents?
Face to Face, emails, texts, Facebook, website, phone calls. Communication is important to us. We WANT to talk to you, we WANT you to be involved.

What are your expectations of me as a parent?
To be open, honest, and communicate with staff on a regular basis.

Do I pay when my child is ill or we take a vacation?
Yes, full fees are due every month, even when ill or on vacation.

Does my child need to be potty trained to attend preschool?
Not 100% but they need to be working on it. We are willing and ready to help.

Who will teach my child?
Abby Lazarus, EdS.

Layne Varland

Do you take field trips?
We do not transport children. When we do take field trips we set up the trip as a large group and invite all the classes to participate, parents are responsible for transportation.

What curriculum do you use?
We chose to write our own! We base our curriculum on the needs of the students in the room. We are constantly observing and assessing our students so that our plans for them align with what they need to work on, it helps up to make sure we are offering them what they truly need and that we are scaffolding their learning.

Our’s school curriculum is based on Wyoming’s coherent path to quality, Wyoming’s Early Learning State Standards, and NAEYC’s Developmentally Appropriate Practice.
