Mrs. Abby Lazarus, M.Ed. – Owner/Teacher
I am the owner of Little Peaches Preschool. Mr. Shaun( My husband) and I are parents to three children, Riley (16), Avery (14) and Pacey (7). I have lived in Cheyenne around 20 years. I was born and raised in Brunswick, Ga. I love the color green, food of all sorts, and I can be bribed with Dr. Pepper, Coffee and baked goods! I LOVE reading and plan to retire on a beach somewhere!
I am a current Doctoral Student. I, also have a Masters in Early Childhood Studies, and a Bachelors in Child Development. I am entering into my 17th year in the ECE profession. My passion has always been teaching young children.
In recent months I have come to realize the community of Cheyenne is in need of more advocates for change in the ECE community represented here. I am making changes to my program to help fill this need, and hope to then fight for change city wide. Advocating for preschoolers and their families is something I really feel is my calling. I truly believe in what I do here everyday at preschool. I will spend the rest of my life educating others so that they understand the value of a preschool education.
Mrs. Layne Varland- Assistant Director/Teacher
My husband Chad and I and have 2 boys MJ(10) and Lincoln(7). I graduated from high school here in Cheyenne before continuing my education. I came to Little Peaches after enrolling my oldest in Abby’s program. I volunteered in the classroom and just came to love working with the kids and working for Abby and lucky for me Abby chose to “adopt” me! The next phase for me is continuing my education in teaching preschoolers. I have a passion for instilling healthy habits in children which I fostered earlier by working with the YMCA teaching yoga. I love teaching yoga to the kids in our program. I am a lover of animals, good food, coffee and a nice glass of red wine! We camp often as a family and love being outdoors together.
I look forward to being one of your teachers and your family joining our Little Peaches Family!
Mrs. Kristine Parish- Teacher
My husband Jeff and I have 3 kids Jameson (9), Korbin (5) and Sarahlynn (3). I have lived in Cheyenne for almost 22 years. I have always enjoyed working with kids. In high school I participated in everything that had to do with Early Childhood including helping with the preschool there. I worked at several different Childcares and with Special Needs children within the school district while I went to college. I received my BA in Social Science with the hopes of one day becoming a social worker. However, being able to stay home with my kids was an even bigger blessing. When Korbin was born, I became a stay-at-home mom. I discovered Little Peaches when Korbin was 3. I was able to help in the classroom and have felt like part of the preschool family ever since. My youngest currently goes there and I was so excited and honored when Abby asked if I wanted to start teaching a class. I have a silhouette and love crafting all the things. I enjoy reading, listening to music and everything tie dye. I am excited to be your child’s teacher and be part of their early childhood learning experience.
